About these pieces:
I didn't write a lot of fictional work during my undergraduate career, but the pieces I did produce are some of my all-time favorites. These pieces aren't objectively true or factual, but each is based on a real experience from my life. Consequently, I feel a strong personal connection to these pieces, and can't help but empathize with their central characters.

I wrote this short story for English 223, a creative writing class, fall 2013. A young girl's take on growing up, the story is full young nemeses, broken noses, moments of mercy, and schoolyard cruelty. Click the page icon below to view a complete PDF.
Another piece from English 223, this is a 10-minute play about a young woman forging an unexpected friendship with her sleazy older boss. Click the page icon below to view a complete PDF.
I wrote this short piece for my Gateway Course to the writing minor. Initially, I wanted to write a non-fictional essay about a failed relationship, but found that writing a fictional version of events made for a better, more compelling story. The story is about a young woman who, in pursuit of self-discovery, falls for a chef. Through this relationship. Click the page icon below to view a complete PDF.
